A quiet pair is not an "opportunity about to happen" — it is a pair that has not moved, and its cost of entry relative to its move is usually higher.

any decision — and the liquidity page explains when it

From currency to pair
The real ranking starts with the currency
A pair's move is the product of two currencies. To see which one is actually
responsible, look at the ranking of the eight currencies:
if a pair moved 0.6% with its base currency in first place and its quote currency in
last, the move is broad. If both currencies sit mid-table, the move is specific to
that pair.
How is the ranking calculated?
1 · The zero point
Today's open, on server time
Every pair is measured from its day's opening price on the broker's server (EET), not
over a rolling 24 hours. That is why the ranking "resets" every night and only tells
the story of the current day.
2 · A fair unit
Percentages, not pips
100 pips on USDJPY is not the same as 100 pips on GBPNZD. We measure the move as a
percentage of price, so a pair with cheap pips cannot top the table on a technicality.
3 · How it differs from the meter
The pair is the result, the currency the cause
This table ranks results (28 pairs). The
currency strength meter ranks the eight currencies by
their strength over the period shown. Read together, they tell you who moved, and
because of whom.
Reference daily range for each pair
"The pair has moved 0.4%" — is that a lot or a little? It depends on the pair's own
habits. This table gives each pair's median and average daily range (in pips), measured on
a live MT5 terminal over the last 20 completed trading days. The right way to read it:
compare today's move with the median here. A pair that has already covered its full
median has used up its day compared with its norm — and the spread is paid in full either
way.

Frequently asked questions
Which is the strongest currency pair right now?
At any given moment, the strongest pair is the one furthest from today's open relative to its usual volatility. The table on this page ranks all 28 pairs by their move since today's open (server time). It updates every minute and runs 15 minutes behind; the live version is for members.
How can I tell a pair moving on real strength from one moving on thin air?
Compare the pair's move with its current spread against the usual for the same hour. A big move on a blown-out spread is usually a thin-liquidity move, and the cost of getting in eats a large part of it.
If a pair is among the strongest, should I trade it?
The table shows how the pairs have moved during the day. The ranking can change, and it does not guarantee that a move will continue.
Which pair is cheapest relative to its movement?
Compare the pair's spread with its median daily range. In our July–August 2026 measurement, EURUSD had a median range of 48 pips with a typical spread of 1–2 pips, while GBPNZD had a median of 123 pips with a much wider spread — so the relative cost is lower on the majors. The full range table is on this page, and the live ratio, minute by minute, is on the liquidity page.
